Additionally, help is often needed in picking up food, cleaning up, and/or transporting food, so even if you cannot help cook or serve, you could still be a vital part of Food Not Bombs by volunteering for one (or some!) of these tasks. Please get in touch with us if you are available to help with any of these anytime throughout the week.
We would love to have servings every day of the week, so if you are available to volunteer on a day other than those listed, please get in touch and let us know!!
On non-FNB Sundays: check out the Free Farm Stand at 23rd and Treat in the Mission (at Treat Community Garden)! Free organic and locally grown goods.
Emergency meeting place: In the event of a catastrophic disaster or serious emergency SF Food Not Bombs and supporters are encouraged to gather in UN Plaza to begin serving and plan for further action.
Other Veg Food Options
Martin de Porres House of Hospitality – serves mostly vegetarian lunch and breakfast meals throughout the week.
Curry Without Worry – vegetarian Nepalese food on Tuesdays in UN Plaza / Thursdays in the Haight
Free Farm Stand – Organic vegetarian locally grown veggies and bread every Sunday at Treat Community Garden (23rd and Treat in the Mission)

I am interested in starting a monthly SF FNB on Fridays. I can arrange the cookhouse, the food, and the volunteers. However, I need help arranging a serving place, e.g. Civic Center. Who can give me some tips/help/info?

You don’t have to arange a serving place. Since we havn’t had a permit in about 2O years, there is realy no aranging to be done. Just show up and feed.
I sugest UN Plaza, not Civic Center, since other chapters and groups serve there and you will be more expected there. Then post it here, just so we all know.
And: good work.

sign up on the email list:
https://lists.riseup.net/www/info/sffnb
and shoot off an email…people will respond to tell you which servings need help. Or just contact people directly if you know what day you’d like to help out:
http://sffnb.org/serving-schedule/
Everything there is up to date except for a new Saturday serving that I will be adding to the info shortly.
